KaiserAir, Inc. Biographies

Ronald J. Guerra, President

President Ronald J. Guerra joined the operation in 1960 as a captain in the Kaiser companies flight department. He was elected president of KaiserAir, Inc. in 1979 when he and other executives purchased the organization following the voluntary liquidation of Kaiser Steel Co. With 18,000 hours of flight time, he has flown to six continents, including trips to China and Russia. He has been a member of the boards of directors of the National Business Aviation Association, Aeronautical Radio, Inc. and ARINC Research, as well as a member of the Gulfstream Pilots Advisory Board. Prior to joining KaiserAir, Guerra was a pilot for various airlines, including Southeast Airlines in Miami and World Airways in Oakland. A graduate of the College of San Mateo, he resides in Pleasanton.

Jim Strickland, Chief Financial Officer

Strickland joined KaiserAir in 2004 as controller. He has 24 years of experience in finance and accounting and received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University – Chico.
He has been a team leader for 30 aircraft modifications, including 15 Gulfstreams plus Hawkers, Falcons, JetStars, Learjets and Citations. He has served on numerous industry boards and committees, including the National Business Aviation Association, Aeronautical Radio Inc. and Arinc Research and The Gulfstream Pilots Advisory Board.

David Campbell, Chief Pilot and Vice President, Operations

David Campbell joined KaiserAir in 1979, progressing to chief pilot in 1988 with responsibilities for managing the company's 30 pilots. He has more than 11,000 hours of flying time and has flown more than 5 million miles. Prior to joining KaiserAir, he was a pilot for Eagle Aviation, Inc. and American Flyers, Inc. on the East Coast. Campbell is a summa cum laude graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla., with degrees in aeronautical engineering, aviation and management, and aeronautical studies. He resides in Pleasanton.

Andrew J. Fitzgerald, Vice President, Maintenance

Andrew Fitzgerald joined KaiserAir in 1974 after holding management positions with World Airways and AiResearch Aviation. He has served on the technical boards of the National Business Aircraft Association, AiResearch Aviation, Gulfstream Aerospace and Lear Jet. Fitzgerald holds a B.A. degree from St. Mary's College in Moraga, Calif., and has completed advanced training in aeronautical engineering, airframe and power plant. He is a resident of Alameda.

Rob Guerra, Vice President, Aircraft Asset Management and Client Relations

Rob Guerra, 39, joined KaiserAir in 1994 as a pilot after his graduation from California State University – East Bay with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is currently a senior captain and an FAA-designated Check Airman, with 12 years of experience flying Citation, Hawker, and Gulfstream business jet aircraft. He has flown domestic and international flights and has more than 5,000 hours of total flight time.

Sandy Waters, Vice President, Business Development

Sandy Waters joined KaiserAir in 1996, as vice president, business development and human resources. He has more than 32 years of administrative management experience in planning, operations, sales, business development, budgeting and personnel and property management, including 22 years with the Kaiser group of companies. Before joining KaiserAir, Waters worked for various companies, including the Denver Broncos football club and Trefethen Vineyards and Winery.

Beth Medlen, Vice President, Properties and Line Service

Beth Medlen joined KaiserAir in 2007 as vice president, properties and line service. In addition to working with KaiserAir, Beth has served as general manager of the Oakland-based maintenance facility for United Airlines and as vice president of plans and programs for AAR Aircraft Services in Indianapolis.  She has a bachelor os cience degree in aeronautical operations from San Jose State University, a private pilot license with instrument rating, and an A&P mechanic certificate.
