Q. |
How
much does it cost to charter a plane? |
| |
A. |
The
cost ranges from $1,700 per hour for a 7-passenger Citation
V, with a cruising speed of 440 miles per hour, to $4,900 an
hour for a 15-passenger Gulfstream IVSP, with a cruising speed
of 530 miles per hour. There is a two-hour minimum. In general,
the cost of a charter is only slightly more than first-class
airplane tickets for a group. |

Q. |
Do
you fly to other countries? |
| |
A. |
Yes. Unlike fractional companies, KaiserAir can take you anywhere
in the world. We currently are flying clients for business and
pleasure to Europe, Asia and North and South America. KaiserAir
was the first to fly the Gulfstream business jet to New Zealand,
Australia and China.

Where have you flown? |
| |
A. |
We
have flown to airports and vacation areas throughout the world.

In 55 years we have flown safely over 100 million miles

Q. |
What
if I don't want to fly out of your base at Oakland? |
| |
A. |
We can pick you up at the airport of your choice. However, Oakland
has less fog than SFO and no curfews like San Jose. If you are
in the San Francisco Bay Area and the airport closest to your
home is closed, you may prefer coming to Oakland by car instead
of delaying your trip. |

Q. |
Can
I specify the crewmembers that I want? |
| |
A. |
All
crewmembers must be mutually acceptable to KaiserAir and to
our clients. With KaiserAir, we typically assign the same crewmembers
to specific aircraft, meaning that you will get to know your
crew. Our senior captains have more than 10,000 hours of flight
time (more than is required by most airlines) and have been
with us an average of 18 years. |

Q. |
How
safe is KaiserAir compared to the national companies? |
| |
A. |
KaiserAir
has had a perfect safety record since it was formed in 1946
as the flight department of Henry J. Kaiser's group of companies.
We have flown former presidents and prime ministers, meaning
that our security and safety procedures have passed the scrutiny
of both the Secret Service and Scotland Yard. We have flown
over 100 million miles. |

Q. |
When
should I charter and when should I buy an aircraft? |
| |
A. |
In
general, it is most economical to charter when you fly fewer
than 100 hours a year. At 100 hours a year, our Plan K for 100-hour
charter customers offers excellent value compared to other charter
programs and fractional ownership. You should consider co-ownership
of an aircraft when you fly 120 to 200 hours a year, and full
ownership at 250 hours a year. |

Q. |
If
I own an aircraft and have excess time, can you help me charter
it? |
| |
A. |
Chartering
your aircraft will help offset your costs, and KaiserAir offers
this option to owners of all the aircraft it manages. Aircraft
can be chartered under KaiserAirs FAR Part 135 charter
certificate. |

Q. |
Why is the sky blue? |
| |
A. |
It's
not. But when sunlight travels through the atmosphere, blue
light scatters more than the other colors, leaving a dominant
yellow-orange hue to the transmitted light. The scattered light
makes the sky blue; the transmitted light makes the sunset reddish
orange. |
